"Thoughts on Painting"

Night of a Thousand Wishes

Last night was the annual Night of a Thousand Wishes, a dinner and live/silent auction by Celebration for Life to benefit Camp Can Do, a camp where kids with cancer can go play like normal kids. I love both of these organizations! C4Life is the brain child of my good friend Miriam Witmer, and over the last 10 years they have raised just under a quarter million dollars for the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Lancaster County.

Two bidders won a custom painting by me. This is Doug, a new friend. We talked each others' ears off all evening. I'm not sure if he intended to win the bid, but he did! He's stuck with an original custom painting. He owns miniature horses, so painting them may be in my future!

The other winning bidder was Regina Martin-Rodger. She and her husband, Fred Rodger, are both accomplished Lancaster artists. I'm honored that a painting of mine will become part of their personal collection! I'll be painting their beloved late Jack Russel Terrier, Gizmo.
